Lucky ducks! Y'all got snow! It's sooo pretty! Man, I miss that. But you're in for a long winter sounds like. ☃ we had a cold flash for a few days down here, and I got so excited, I busted out my scarves and jackets and everything... then the next day it was 94 degrees.... what the heck Texas! It's supposed to be winter! Or at least fall!
Thank you so much for my birthday in a box! It was so fun to have my full tortellini dinner, even though I couldn't have it with y'all. I was on exchange with Sister Mapa (from New Zealand!) for my birthday, and she was sooo grateful for dinner, saying multiple times I had to thank you for it:) so thanks from her! And thank you for the gift card! I already used some of it at a thrift store today, and it was nice to be able to get some new (to me) skirts. :) Also, thanks for the huckleberry jam! I got so excited when I saw it. :) Sis. Mapa just didn't understand... then she tried some, lol.
I had a fun birthday. We got lunch with another companionship of sisters in the zone, and that night when we ended the exchange, the sisters had a mini party for me! Haha, we had cake and they got me a balloon:)
Not much happening in the investigator side of things. Christian dropped off the face of the earth, and is dodging our phone calls and ignoring our texts... L I assume he got hit by Anti... I just wish he would text us! It breaks my heart. Ebonee couldn't meet this week again because of school and work. However, she is coming to church on Sunday! Yay! So she's trying. Hopefully she won't flake on our lesson this week.
As far as painting with Bob Ross goes, it was so fun! I had a blast, and my painting turned out okay, if I do say so myself. But don't compare it to his... because then it looks really bad... lol. I'll attach a pic. Also! Thanks for my new Gnome. I named him Gnathanael (Gnate). I love having those little gnomes on my desk, they crack me up.
Sorry to hear you were sick, mom. That's no fun! Stake Conference sounds like it was good, as always. What general authority came? Anyone I know?
And when president introduced us, he said different things for everyone. But he said where I was from, how long I'd been out, what ward I was serving in, that I had a brother about to serve a mission, that I had a great smile and a funny sense of humor (no pressure!), he also mentioned that I was a hard worker. It was super nice of him.
As far as how I get along with Sis 'Alatini, I love her. It's a pretty chill companionship. We work hard, and get along well. She keeps having me try weird foods though! Some of it is good, some of it is nasty, and most of it is just interesting (i.e. I ate it, but don't want to again, lol). She also loves spicy things, and keeps convincing me to try spicier things than I usually would (haven't eaten a jalapeño yet! But not for lack of her trying, though, haha)
Luckily the apartment has been cockroach free for the last few days. Knock on wood! We'll be getting it sprayed again in a few weeks just for good measure though. Lol.
I'll attach a separate email of pics, as usual.
All my love,
Sister Erika Marks ☀❤☀❤
