Hey Hey!
Thank you for your birthday wishes! Dad, I hope you saw my Facebook post for your birthday, even if it was a day late... lol. And I'm so glad you liked those gnomes! I couldn't believe it when the Dees were just like, "here, take them." I love them.
This has been a great week! But EWWWWW! The cockroaches are getting worse. I've had multiple disgusting experiences this week. Including, but not limited to, going into the bathroom in the morning when it's dark, feeling something under my toes, turning on the light and seeing a HUGE cockroach writhing on its back... I almost FREAKED!!! But I didn't... I just put a trashcan over it. Makes me shudder to think about it. We have an exterminator coming on Thursday. Thank goodness! I just keep thinking of Men in Black though, lol. I'll have to watch that when I get home. J
We had a cool service opportunity on Saturday! We went to a warehouse and made clean up kits to send to Houston! I loved it because we couldn't actually go down to help. I'll attach pics.
The main service we do here though is at the food bank! I love it so much! I haven't worked in a food bank since Azle, and I forgot how much joy comes from working with these people. I'll probably try to find a food bank in Sandpoint to volunteer at when I get home. It's just such good work.
We didn't have a lesson with Ebonee this week, and she wasn't able to come to church, so we'll have to push her date back. She is still wanting to be baptized, and I'm sure it'll happen soon, but it won't be on the 12th anymore. Doyle hasn't been in contact with us this week either... we hope he's okay. And Patrick set two appointments, but had to cancel last min on both of them. So, nothing really happening on that front.
However, we did have a cool experience this week with a man named Christian! He was an hour late for his appointment, but when he finally showed, we ended up having a two and a half hour lesson with him! Usually, that wouldn't be a good thing, but he was just eating it up! He loved the whole restoration, then was asking questions that had us teaching him about wards, apostles, transfers, and anything else he could think of. It was so cool! He totally seemed to believe everything we said, as if he already knew it. He even made comments about that as we talked, like he was so excited when we told him the true nature of the godhead. Saying that's always what he believed, and had gotten in arguments with his youth pastor about it before. He's awesome. The one bad thing is that he hasn't been in contact with us since Saturday night, even though we've tried reaching out to him... he didn't come to church the way he said he would, and hasn't responded to our texts and calls. I still have a lot of hope for him, but I am praying he contacts us soon with a valid reason for not coming to church and stuff. Satan just attacks these people so intensely after a spiritual experience, and I hope he is protected from that and strong enough to make it back for a second lesson. Because if you can get two lessons with people, then you can usually continue forward. The most important and dangerous time for an investigator is right after the first lesson, and right before their baptism. Luckily, the Lord is far more powerful, and I have faith that Christian will be able to progress at this time and enter into the waters of baptism.
We had Stake Conference this weekend, and that went well. On Saturday, president invited us all to come, and he had us all come up to the stage, and introduced each of us one by one, which was neat of him, saying a bit about where we were from, our interests, and so forth. He even mentioned that Garrett got his call to Guatemala! So that was cool. We had a lot of members come up after and say how much they liked that.
Then, last Monday for FHE we tie-died and I did a bandana! It turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself! I'll attach pics. Tonight we're painting with Bob Ross, so that'll be fun! We'll see how that goes....
I so hope it snows ❄ on my birthday! That'd be so fun. We have exchanges with our STL's (Sister Training Leaders) on that day. I don't really know how I feel about that, but it doesn't really matter. It should be a fun day.
I love you soooook much!! ❤❤❤☀❤
