Hey Mom and Dad!
So sorry, I have very little time this week! But I want you to know how much I love you and so appreciate your emails! Also, first things first, next week is Mother's Day! That means I get to call home on Sunday! ... I'm super excited to hear all y'all's voices! (Look, ma! Proper Texan grammar!
Mom, I didn't get a picture with Charelton (Elder Castlemain) because he had to leave early, so I didn't have the chance. He offered to go to lessons with us though, so if we take him up on that, I'll make sure to get a picture with him.
The yard sounds so great! Man, I can't believe the way everything is finally coming together. I miss being there for the process, but I love hearing about it and seeing pics! North Idaho spring really is gorgeous. And I'm so excited for Garrett! I can't wait to hear where he's going! It's killing me! And he doesn't even have his papers in yet! Argh!
Also, Dad, I can't believe you got to sit at the feet of Elder Holland to be instructed. When Elder Rasband came, he did that same thing for the stakes in the Fort Worth mission (12) and they loved it. I can only image how incredible it would have been! Did you shake his hand? He's such a great man.
As far as how my week has really been, it's been good! Sis Asay was sick a few days this week, and we literally had one day where she didn't get out of bed all day - 32 hours. Wow, that was a long day. Because of that, I've been able to study a lot, and I've been reading where Abinadi is speaking, and I love it! His sermon is so short, but so powerful. Plus, I love thinking about how he didn't actually see any results from his labor. And yet, if he hadn't done what God called him to do, then a few events down the line, the people of King Lamoni would have never have converted and become the Anti-Nephi-Lehi's. Isn't that cool? Yeah, Ammon was the amazing
missionary who actually made it possible, but Ammon was converted because Alma the younger saw an angel, and he saw the angel because Alma prayed, and he prayed because Abinadi preached. Cool cool! I love connecting the dots I've never connected before.
Anyway, the Smiths' continue to do amazing! They still haven't set a date, but they told us they want to be baptized. They just want to know the Book of Mormon is true first. That's fair and the dad, Derrell, I'm pretty sure would already be baptized but that they want to do it as a family, and Mary isn't ready yet. She will be though! She herself believes that.
As far as that other family, the one Sis. Asay was all excited about, we've been in contact with the daughter, and she's having a hard time figuring out when we can meet because her mom doesn't really want her to. We're not really sure how to move forward, but we will be continuing to try.
Well, we'll talk more on Sunday. ❤☀
All my love,
Sister Erika Marks ☀❤☀❤
